Freshwater Aquarium Fish Dinner

Hello All Fellow Fish Hobbyists,

Hope everyone is enjoying the 2011 summer season.

I have a story to share with you, that I distinctly remember. It involves my friends two large aquariums. One aquarium has many freshwater fish in it, the other is home to his pet octopus.

These aquariums are located in different areas of the home, also the aquariums are both fully covered with a full aquarium hood top.

Okay, so my friend leaves for a business trip for a few days, and he puts a vacation fish food feeder in the freshwater aquarium, and he feeds the octopus before leaving, thinking that both tanks should be fine while he is away.

When he returns home to his surprise the freshwater aquarium was completely absent of any fish. However when he looked over at his octopus tank everything seemed quite well.

Can anyone guess what happened to all of the freshwater fish???

The octopus was to blame, it opens the top of its own aquarium, it crawled out of its aquarium, then down onto the floor, then crawled and made its way across the home, made its way up on the freshwater aquarium, where it then proceeded to open the freshwater aquarium and have a fresh fish dinner. Then the octopus makes its way back to own its aquarium, and even closes the canopy door before full submerging itself into the water; as if nothing every happened!

End of story.

Now that's an intelligent marine animal. The horror part is the freshwater fish never had a chance. : )

*Take a look at this video that I found on StumbleUpon of the Mimic Octopus.
