Fishy Firsts

Just curious what everyone's first fish experience was. How did you get started in the hobby? What kind of fish(es) were in your first tank? How big was your first tank? Do you still have that kind of fish? Why or why not?

For the record, my first fish was some sort of cichlid - forgive me for not remembering but I was a baby. Which is pretty much how I got started in the hobby - my Dad was a fish nut and we've always had fish. The first fishies I selected on my own were veiltail angelfish and I still adore them. My first tank was a 25 gallon tall show tank. We've just moved and don't have fish right now, but I plan to get some soon. It's fun to visit local fish stores and see all the different species available now - I love live plants too so whatever fish I get will have to co-exist peacefully with my aquatic flora!

Your turn! (:P)
